These foam surfboards have a tough Polyethylene outer layer, a spongy EPS core inside, and a wooden stringer system.
They are light, tough, and pretty much ding proof. They have a lot of volume, and are very easy to ride.
They are not indestructable, however, and can be broken surfing big waves in shallow water. However, the same holds true for conventional fiberglass surfboards.
In normal use they are really tough and the outer layer is not easily damaged. They aren't quiet as good looking as the liquid shredders, but they are an easy board to ride, and a good value in a first board.

A rugged economical board popular with surf camps. This board is easy to ride and pretty much ding proof. It has a lot of flotation in a light weight. It has 3 fins, and comes with a leash. It does not come with the surfing poster any longer. Our photo is an old photo. It has no glue as it uses heat laminated construction, and it has a slick white polypropylene bottom that is heat laminated. This isn't a pretty board but it is easy to ride and very durable. |
