Tie Down Procedure

This kayak appears to be an Ocean Kayak Scupper Pro, and it seems to ride nicely on the Kayak Canoe cart. Notice the straps. One strap is fastened to the front part of the frame the second to the rear. You can study the diagram above again to see how this tie down is accomplished. The kayak will ride nicely on a long portage fastened in this manner. Some sit on top kayaks have a larger keel, and will require the optional rail kit.

If you will notice the wheels you can see that they are riding on top the sand. This beach has a hard surface, as many beaches in California and other places have, and this cart will work just fine here.

In Florida, many of our beaches are very soft, and the beaches at Destin resemble sugar. This cart will not work very well in those conditions, and the wheels will just bury themselves in the soft sand.
