If you haven't been to Destin, Florida yet you are missing an American paradise.  White sand beaches, emerald green water, great restaurants, world class accomadations, and all of the fun in the sun you can stand.

For many years Destin has been known only to hundreds of lucky fishermen.  It is still a great place to fish.  But where once most of our visitors have been from  neighboring southern states, we now get visitors from all over the world.

Fishing is now taking second place to other pursuits, windsurfing, surfing, kayaking, and stressed out folks soaking up the sun on our beautiful beaches.  There are more things to see and do here on the gulf coast than most people have vacation for.

Destin is in north west Florida, right on the gulf coast.  We have four seasons, although everything except summer is pretty short.  Sometimes fall is slow coming and we have really warm weather right up to the middle of November.  This year has been one of those years.

Winters are very mild especially if you are used to northern winters.  Over night lows can be in the high 30s or 40s, with most days in the 50s or 60s, some days in the 70s.  We do get a bit of rain in the winter, so bring your umbrella, just in case.  The coldest weather is around the last two weeks of January, or the first two weeks of February.  After that  it's spring.

Springs are really mild, with the water warm enough to go swimming around the end of April, usually, although it's somtimes the middle of May.  Summers are hot, but the water is great, with water temperatures in the middle 80s.
