Miramar Beach is close in to destin, about 3 to 5 miles, depending on where you stay at miramar beach. It is one of the most highly developed of the destin area beaches and you should be able to find almost anything you need here, or nearby. There are 3 large shopping centers only minutes away. Of couse you are at the heart of destin vacation fun when you stay at miramar beach.

About half of Miramar beach is in south walton county, and this is one of the few beaches in south walton county offering parasailing, and jet ski rentals. There are also several nice restaurants on miramar beach, and of course many more in the shopping centers. You will stll have that secluded feeling here, even though this beach is surrounded by shopping centers.

If you get rained out, there are several movie theatres, plus several outstanding area museums. The Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola is a must see attraction, even if you don't get rained out.

There are all kinds of hotels in the destin area, some are regular hotels, and some are condominium hotels, which will rent you an apartment complete with kitchen facilities. The units in most of these places are owned by individuals. Usually a rental agency or real estate company manages the rentals for the individual owners. One of these condominium hotels may have several rental agencies managing vacation rentals of it's units.

So there may not be a central place you can go for information.
