Worksman has 3 models of tandem cruisers. They are all built Worksman tough, and they all employ Worksman's famous step through frame design. The step through frame makes mounting and dismounting a piece of cake. Many tandem riders have found themselves in a heap when their leg got tangled up in the rear handle bars while mounting or dismounting. Worksman Heavy Duty Cruisers
Worksman Heavy Duty Cruisers are available in a standard design, or in a customizeable version that you can pretty much design yourself. When Worksman says Heavy Duty, they mean exactly that. If you look closely at the wheels you will find that they really resemble the wheels of small motorcycles, and one of our customers has bought several sets of these wheels to make motor bikes. If you are having problems getting department store bikes to hold up to your use you might take a look at the Heavy Duty Cruiser. Bicycle Assembly, Excluding Three Wheel Bicycles
You will have some assembly to do when your new bike arrives. The crank assembly, chain, rear wheel, and rear brake come assembled. You will have to assemble the front fork, attach the front wheel and front brake (If your bike has front brakes), attach the handle bars, pedals, and front and rear reflectors. The chain has been tightened by the factory. Assembly is not a bad job, if you are mechanically inclined. If you have any doubts about your mechanical ability you can get a local shop to do the assembly. The charge for this service is usually 35 to 40 dollars.

Bicycle Frame Sizes
Frame size is just one of the extra choices you have with Worksman bicycles. The frame size is measured from the centerline of the pedal crank, to the top of the seat post. It gives you a guideline in comparing size of bikes. Most department store bikes have a 17" frame. This bike will not be too tall for most grown men. A man should have around 2" clearance from the crotch to the bikes top bar, to help prevent dismount injuries. A man 6'-3" tall can ride a bike with a 17" frame, by extending the seat post. At around 6'-8" you start running out of seat post, and your knees hit the handle bars when you pedal.
The chart below is a very rough guide for men's frame sizes.

If you are uncertain, go down one frame size. You may have to select another bike model as all of the frame sizes are not made in every model.
Ladies Frame Sizes
The ladies bikes are only made in the 17" frame sizes, which will fit most adult women. Some very petite ladies under 5'-0" may find the 24" wheel sizes in the Atlantic Coast Cruisers to be a better fit
